Sunspots are lily pads,
Buddha a dragonfly.

Remember the first time
your heart froze

it was a hell of a day

but nonetheless
dragonflies were hatching

Breathing out I approach the mountain
Breathing in the mountain approaches me.
Following the barely visible
trail through evolution,
following the Milky Way
across the top of the skull
into the star field
at the back of the mind,

There is a grace approaching
that we shun as much as death,
it is the completion of our birth.

It does not come in time,
     but in timelessness
when the mind sinks into the heart
and we remember.
